Course Overview
This 1 day course provides a practical introduction to traffic intersection modelling using SIDRA Intersection software. It is designed for engineers, planners, and transport professionals seeking a clear, hands-on understanding of how to build, run, and interpret SIDRA models for real-world traffic assessment and reporting.
Participants will be guided through the fundamentals of SIDRA, from project setup and data input through to analysing outputs such as level of service, delays, queue lengths, and degree of saturation. The course focuses on practical application aligned with Australian traffic engineering practice and common council requirements.
Who This Course Is For
Graduate and junior traffic engineers
Civil engineers working in transport projects
Transport planners and consultants
Local government officers assessing traffic impacts
Professionals transitioning into traffic modelling roles
No prior SIDRA experience is required.
What You Will Learn
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Understand the purpose and capabilities of SIDRA Intersection
Set up a basic SIDRA project and intersection layout
Input traffic volumes, geometry, lane configurations, and control types
Run models for signalised and unsignalised intersections
Interpret key outputs including delays, queue lengths, LOS, and DoS
